How can you get more miles to the gallon with the 5.9 lt engine. Is there a chip or some basic modifications that can increase performance and mileage??

To make is easy, an engine is an engine is an engine. The more efficiently you can getthe air in and the more efficiently you can get it out, the more power you make (and, within reason, the better mileage you get).

Cold Air Kit, A good set of headers, and a decent cat-back system will give you a good combination of increased performance and efficiency. However, most people will notice a decrease in MPG right after the modifications. Why? Easy...you add the "fun factor" in and the mileage goes down. Fun Factor = Wow, let's see what she can do now! (Mash pedal to floor, watch tires spin, notice speedometer increasing speed more rapidly, watch fuel gauge decrease rapidly.) ;)
