I would like to know if anyone has a powerdyne
supercharger hooked up on a 5.9 R/T. I have a 99
R/T and would like to see if anyone else has used
a powedyne.

I can't speak from experience, but I'll tell you what I have heard.

Powerdyne is one of the cheapest if not the cheapest. It requires no oil line from your oil pan. It breaks belts, your warranty is only valid if using a 6-7lb boost but not 9lb. Other than that I have no idea how it performs compared to other Superchargers or how easy it installs.

I've heard powerdyne is definitley not the way to go. Heard the have regular internal problems and the powerdyne folks aren't exactly helpful. KRC stopped carrying them from I understand for these reasons and maybe more.

From everything i've heard Kenne Bell is the best way to go for supercharging pretty much any vehicle.

I just finished installing a powerdyne on my 99 rc R/T. I love it!! It had to be the easiest install I have seen on a supercharger. There are some issues with pinging. The power is lower than some others, but you can always upgrade later on. The biggest difference for me was price. Powerdyne makes great superchargers as long as you don't overspin them. Kenne Bell blowers are just as prone to failure and their costumer service sux.

I have a 99' rt reg. cab and just installed the powerdyne with a six # pulley. Although there is a slight pinging problem, im hooking up the msd btm to take care of that. Other than that, it was an extremly easy install, and the results were great. My truck scares me now.... i need some z-rated tires.

I just dynoed my R/T with a 6 lbs. Powerdyne It made 295 rearwheel horsepower and 380 rearwheel ft/lb. I had the piging problem on mine as well had to set the BTM to start at 2lbs. and 3 dedgres per psi, until I got some 24 lbs/hr ford injectors. Now the Btm is set to start at 1psi and pull 1 degree per psi.

99 RC DA R/T, Gibson Headers and Cat-back,APC clear tails, MSD 6a, IAT adjuster.Powerdyne supercharger installed.

Where is the best place to buy one. Also, besides
changing thermostat and plugs what else should be
done to help against detonation.

I installed a 180 t-stat along time ago. I am running autolite 3922 in it right now. I had the 3923 in it but, I was able to use less retard with the 3922.

so you are running 6# of boost, 24# injectors, and you still need a boost retard?

i thought you only need a 24# injectors and a retard if you were running 9#'s?

I got mine online with the fuel pump, btm, gauges, pod, and other misc. things on ebay. Mine doesn't ping at all with no retard, but with 93 octane gas plus octane booster. I'm running a 180 t stat and i have a high flow cat and flowmaster muffler dumped with stock injectors. Lew 360.. what kind of performance gain did you get out of those injectors?

I installed the injectors before the dyno, so i really don't know, but they allowed me to run more timing without pinging. I may have been causing my pinging problem by running my fmu off the throttle body. I am in the process of correcting this now. I reconnected the fmu to the intake now I need a vac./boost source for my guage and btm.
