Can stock driveline handle the power demands of
say a paxton or kenne bell bolted to the 4.7?
trannies, clutches, driveshafts, rear ends can add
a little to the cost of any set up I am
considering. Note : this is not a drag car. just
an everyday driver with a need for speed!

IMO the clutch should be replaced with a dual friction one. The trans. couldn't say on it haven't had much to do with a 5 speed and lots of power output. The 9¼ rear diff. is touph.

The trick to driveline life is fighting the desire to rev. up and drop the clutch. Hard launches, poor shift technigue and power shifting eat up u-joints. The more clamping force your clutch has the more abuse you driveline takes. This is also true about traction. The more traction you have the more abuse your driveline takes. If you race to win you will break parts alot sooner then most would but their is such a thing as raceing smart.

Team Fast, if your worried about killing a tranny and a rearend you should ask Matt Barett about his dakota. As far as i know he has grenaded a rearend and killed a tranny while racing his dakota.
