I have a 97 5.2 2wd, I have been putting 5qts of oil in my truck and I think that is right according to the manual, but recently I have noticed that I have been losing oil so i was wondering if it was supposed to be 6 qts like the 4.7??????/ Also I am thinking about getting some underdrive pulleys for my Dak the ones on truck performance that are only 67 bucks does any one have anything to say about them, Like the gains that you will noticed iis it more HP or Trq???? and are they that hard to put on and does anyone have the ft lb. settings for each one!!!! thanx for your help!!!!

The owners manual says 4quarts of oil, 4.5 w/filter change. for the 5.2

woooooh joe! Check your manual again. It gives fluids amounts on the back and lists 4.5 for the 5.2 w/o (meaning without) the filter. A 5.2 takes 5 qts of oil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was going with the 99 model year. anyway that is a moot point for me since I have a 4.7 now with 6 quarts of oil needed.
