The Xenon/Halogens are as good as it gets.
Try Sylvania Halogen ExtraVision or NAPA
BriteLites.

Waste of $$

I bought 1 fancy bulb to see what the difference was as compared to the "stock" bulb.

The difference in light output was minimal and the higher wattage bulb burned out quickly.

If you think about the physics of it... to make more light, the bulb HAS to take more power.... More power means more heat... more heat means faster burnout.

Besides... the stock bulbs are covered under warantee too.

look on ebay for xexon or superwhite 9007's
you could go look at a local shop like a car audio place or some kinda place that sells cool car stuff, they'll more than likely have some whiter ones than stock
I've got the PIAA's and they're not as white as you would expect them to be for the price but they are bright!
If you're looking for a different color go with the cheaper xenons or something because the PIAA's won't give you the "different look" you might be after.

I bought Hella High Intensity Plus in 100/80W at my local auto parts store for $15.49 each. They seem to light a bunch better then stock, I almost never use high beams and nobody ever "flashes" their brights at me bacause they are not overly bright to oncoming drivers. I also put on a headlight relay setup that can be bought for about $40 that eliminates any voltage drop associated with running wiring all the way to the switch and back. I don't know if it's a problem on Dakotas but I bought it when I owned a Jeep Grand Cherokee and they lose almost 2 volts in the headlight harness.

PIAAs aren't worth what you pay for. I shelled out 140 bucks for mine (70 bucks for one light bulb).

The PIAAs are brighter than stock though.

When these PIAAs burnout, I'm gonna put in GE high outputs, only 10 bucks per bulb.

Check with your local police. Here in Michigan it is not illegal to use higher wattage bulbs.

I've run higher wattage high beems on my motorcycles for years. Illegal ? Sure, but everyone expects high beem to be bright. Just dim to lows in traffic as you should and who's to notice ?

Careful what wattage you install - higher wattage = more heat and our plastic headlights might not like that extra heat.

Good point. I like to run higher wattage back up lights to see better when plowing, they warn you not to leave vehicle in reverse too long for this reason. I'm new to plastic headlight covers.
