Anyone tried one of these setups? I keep seeing headers and whole systems on ebay for about $475. Curious if anyone has any experience with them. Nice looking system that I am thinking of trying.

I've seen them too - very good price if you can get them at that. I bought my JBA headers and my Borla catback off ebay, as well as various other assorted items. It's great, but addictively dangerous.

There are several on there at that price, just curious if anyone has any experience with them. I am not convinced of the JBAs for my 5.2 and K&N quality is always very good.

Yup...first hand experience. I run the JBA eVOL exhaust. (History lesson: JBA purchased the K&N exhaust system line.) ;)

Hey Bernd, you're back. Hope you had a good holiday. Would you know... who makes a nice braided hose kit for our trucks? I had a very bad experience yesterday with a chauvinistic performance shop guy in need of a new attitude.
Think I'll stick to on-line shopping, there's no gender bias.

Hey, Rascal, just realized how rude it was for me to butt into your post like that. I posted a question about those exhausts over on moparchat, those guys have tried everything. Sorry & thanks.

Rascal: The 3" single-exit eVol system on my truck runs excellent and isn't loud like the other style systems. Personally, it's a very nice system - Stainless Steel as well.

Lesley: I used the steel braid covering and used aeroquip clamps for my radiator hoses. I personally don't know of any custom-fit hose kits for our engines though.

Lesley, I did not think it was rude at all. I am interested in the hoses too.

I have seen some fandango radiator hose, (forgotten now what the brand is..), but the braided stuff looks so good.

Bernd, what is "eVOL"?

I had the usual concern about the JBAs being too close on the drivers side to the steering column and the like that I have read about. Also read about some frustration with the installation of the headers flange or something..any thoughts on the matter?

once again Bernd beats me to the punch, I wanted to be the one to say that the K&N exhaust setups were discontinued/acquired by JBA. I guess K&N realized they were content owning the air filter market instead of spreading themselves too thin by entering the flooded exhaust market

Just bought some nice stainless braided hose covers with chrome clamps from the guy who owns Truckin' Canada, just around the corner from my work (newspaper). He sold them to me at cost... I'm putting a profile of his "Bad As$ Chevy" truck in the "Reader's Rides" section of our wheels tabloid. With references to his company in boldface. It pays to be nice to customers.

Rascal: The "eVol" name is what JBA calls them (I asked the same question to their marketing folks...funny name if ya ask me.) I've heard of some installation issues with the JBA's, but if you take your time on the installation, there won't be any problems. We've installed them on several '97-'01 models with the '01 5.9L being the hardest due to the PreCats. (All you do is loosen up the entire exhaust system hangers and yank the pipe forward about 1/8" to fit perfectly.) The 4.7L is another story as it's a little harder to install...but still can be done without too much trouble. (Heheheh...think the Mopar engine headers are tough, try installing a set on a '99 LS1!)
