Subject: Keep from Spinning Out?

Message:
When I gun my new 4.7 CC with 3.55 ls I just spin them for quite sometime, I ran across an R/T the other day with what looked like 1 inch by 1 inch chrome bars on the inside of his back wheels, he slammed it and blew out of the hole. I think what he had are called traction bars but im not sure. they were about 3 feet long and ran about in the middle of the rim off the ground and were pretty much horizontal to the ground. Anyone know much abou these, do they work, prices, best makers etc thanks

Traction bars do help with tires spinning and there are a lot of options.

Lakewood makes a traditional styled set and are available at AutoZone, Summit and Jeg's. You can see what they look like at http://www.jegs.com/ Just click on Online Catalog and then Chassis and Suspension.

CalTracs are the new "rage", but you have to pay out the nose for them. http://www.calvertracing.com/info/info.htm is where you can find information on them.

If you're handy with metal, a cheap alternative which works well can be found at http://www.fast4x4.net/clamps.htm
