I have been lurking on this board since I bought my 2002 dak with a V6 and I must say I am impressed with the site and the people who comtribute. Now on to my question. I ordered a homebrew cold air intake. The pvc pipe and K&N cone filter. I was wondering if anyone could give me some instructions on how to put this bad boy in. If you now of any issues that would be helpfull also. Thanks in advance guys and gals.

Disconnect the accordian shaped hose from the stock TB hat, the metal clamp unscrews fairly easily. Disconnect it also from the stock air box. The air box is connected with tabs (I think it was 3, maybe 4?) I used a flat-head screwdriver to pop them free, then grabbed it with both hands to work it free. Be careful that the snorkel, down towards your passenger side headlight doesn't damage your A/C line. If your new intake comes disassembled, the K&N filter should fit on one end via a rubber sleeve/clamp. The other end hooks up to the stock air hat the same way. Hope that helps.

Thanks that helps!!! Do I keep the bottom of the stock air box there and then place the cone filter inside?

thanks guys!! your a big help! Does anyone know about the breather fitting? or am I just a little to paranoid about dealing with that? Looks like I can just drill a hole and put the fitting in about the same place the breather hose was before or is it really needed?

Do you mean the crank case vent? It stays connected to the hat.
