I have a 1996 entrepid with the 3.5 engin with automatic transmission and have been wondering how much power it has but didn't know how to find out where to find out. Is there anything I need to look for before I start asking questions? I love cars that perform well. This is a good road car.

214 hp. dude, however there is a cone in the intake between the aircleaner and the dual throttle bodies, remove it and you gain an instant 36 hp, up to 250 hp. you wont feel it until around 4 grand right up to the red line, it is a gradual increase when it comes in but it is definiately there. chrysler put the cone in to reduce air induction noises, so you don't really need it. I got a 97 concorde with the same engine, and dude I gotta say it really moves since I took the cone out, the darn thing restricts the airflow buy a lot reducing the inlet to about 1/2 the diameter of the original, or if you are good in geometrical calculations reducing the diameter by 1/2 reduces the area by 75%, so it opens up the area by , get this, a factor of four, allowing 4 times the airflow capability in the intake hose. therefore instant horsepower increase. my neihbor had a brand new 300M with the same 3.5 just the 250 hp version and he used to outrun me from about 30 mph up in a drag race, we stayed even till then, then he would pull away, not so any more, most times it is less then 3 ft difference by the time we hit 70 mph. just make sure that when you run someone after doing this that you have a tank full of midgrade or higher, these engines have a knock sensor in them that retardes the timein a bit if you are running 87, if you run a good grade of 89 usually there is no timong retard , and never under 91 or 93.
