Subject: CO2 Injection Idea?
IP: Logged

Message:
Guys I was thinking the other day what would an small injection of co2 due if introduced into the incoming air charge like in the intake tube on a gasoline motor? I know CO2 like NO2 is an Oxidizer when it burns so shouldnt it produce more oxygen than the incoming air charge and therfore more power? Just something I figured I would throw up for suggestion!

Why would you want to put Carbon Dioxide into the engine? I understand the theory...but CO2? (NO2 is more fun.) ;)

CO2 is much more stable than N20. The main product of efficient combustion is C02 (and H20).

C02 is commonly used in fire extinguishers to put out fires. It supresses burning not promotes burning. You could inject it into your engine as an experiment..... to see how effective it was at slowing it down! hehehe
