Subject: 2 for 1 post!: Integra+stall mats

Thursday night I sold my quarter million mile grand prix.

So this morning I go for a drive to look for some accessories. Get out on the local two lane road, here's an Integra doing 45MPH around a corner, he sees me and speeds up. I'm thinking just because it's straighter and speed up a little. He takes the corner at a good speed. So I speed up more and catch him. Easily. At this point I think he (probably a kid) was trying to out run me. He starts taking corners at 65 (pretty good speed), I keep up. During a section w/o alot of tight curves he pulls 80 and runs a little over the yellow around a corner, not because the car's sliding or anything, I stay on my side. We catch upto some cars doing 45MPH through a slower section, they turn, he floors it. I continue to pace. He stops accelerating at exactly 110MPH, I ease off the gas and slip it into fifth. I was expecting more from the guy. He should've been able to dust me in the corners. I slow to make a left turn.

So one of the stops during the trip I pick up some stall mats. If anyone isn't familiar with these things they are 4'x6' (larger sizes are available but harder to find) and about 1" thick of pure hard rubber. I spend some time cutting them to fit perfectly in the bed (it's not easy, use a sharp utility knife and a straight edge). Ends up about 150-200Lbs of rubber in the back. Not much is gonna be sliding around anymore.

Result: even better handling, less tail happy feeling, fast launches no longer have to mean exhibitionist driving (though wheel spins are still possible), second can be grabbed a bit harder. Highly recommended for people that have traction problems in thier trucks.
