Has anyone noticed that the 4.7 in the new 2002 Dodge Ram is rated at 240hp and 300tq ?
I wonder where they got the extra power?

10HP+5Lb/ft of torque? Probably the air inlet and chip. Not anything major like the 4.7HO which swapped out all the internals.

Might be rated differently to make the ram owners feel better.

I think they probably just now rated it correctly. I believe it had that much power all along.

Bigger truck, made for work, redesigned intake like the Viper engine in the truck, made for torque.

Don't feel bad about having a few HP less. Remember that the RAM is much bigger and requires more power. So far the critics are not too impressed with the power of the 4.7 in the RAM. DC really needs to get it's butt in gear and get the 5.7 335 HP Hemi in there before customers flock to GM.
