hey i am new here..i was wondering though if anyone has done any v8 swaps on the older (87-91) dakotas...and if they have...what is there 1/4 mile times? I was also wondering the set up they used to do this? if you have or know anyone to do this please post your times or pics of your install so i can see. i have also done the same...but cant ever find anyone that has done this also..thanks

Caroll Shelby installed a v8 in a gen 1 dak. He had to remove the fan and install a blower because the 8 wouldn't fit. Hence the gen2 design

-yeah i know they have shelby dakotas with 318 w/ 3.91s...what i wanted to know was that if anyone did a v8 swap into one yet. Mine has a mild 360 in it, an a727. On the motor it runs 13.99 best w/street tires and 12.35 w/slicks on it with 150 shot of the spray. I just wanted to see if anyone has done another one or am I the lone person. There should be a pic of it soon in the pictures, its red, lowered with weld drag lites on it. Oh yeah and you can fit a flex fan on it with a dimple in the fire wall for the distributor, you dont have to run elec. fans. If anyone has done this please email me....just to talk about your set up!! Thanks

The '91 Dak has a longer noes than '90 and older !The '91 is the first of the gen 2 Dakota,s . I dropped a '92 engine into a '90 . I'm still looking for proper harness computer and lower rad hose . I tried the Shelby hose but it is too small for the '92 waterpump's outlet
