There are several systems out right now for the 4.7. They all claim to be cold air but none of them actually are. For a system to be a true cold air system it has to pull air from outside the engine compartment. G-Forced is currently testing a True cold air system for the 4.7. So far it is .3 faster in the 1/4 than any other that we have tested. We have also seen a 2 mpg increase. Each of these systems can be pretty loud because they remove the factory air hat. The Airraid still uses the factory air hat and therefore sound does not increase. The G-Forced is among the quietest of the performance intake systems because the filter is placed behind the lower valance (further away from you). Most people confuse sound with power. Track times or dyno charts are the only real way to tell. We are hopint to have the G-Forced system in production soon. E-mail me for more information.

I am curently running a FIPK by K&N!!! Very pleased!!! this setup could be classifed as a 5o percent cold air intake!!!! I have a heat shield that stops the engine heat from getting into the tube or filter it also has a door seal on top that when i shut my hood that it seals to the hood. when it is cold out side I bet i gain every bit of 30hp at the real wheel i have to!!! But that is about 35 degrees out side and not much humidity. I hwas never able to spin in third gear b4 i put it on. 97 5.2 RC, 3.92 Diff. FIPK, 180 5spd

Most all of the "Cold Air" intakes on the market are within 1-2HP of each other...this small difference doesn't affect the vehicle enough to perform better than one of the other. Keep in mind that there are knock-offs that claim to have better performance (eBay is one prime example of Home Brew intakes) which do provide better performance than the stock airbox...but don't come close to the actual aftermarket intake systems.

I just purchased the K&N setup and there own Dyno test showed a max of 10 Horsepower gain on a stock setup and that was at high RPM. I think with an aftermarket exhaust you may be able to increase that a little maybe 15-20 HP. But 30 HP seems a tad bit high.

None for the 4.7 dodge yet, Notice rt=5.9 & lando =5.2. They have a fipk for a 4.7 jeep, which is a bit weird, but none for the dodge yet ,maybe in a month or two, according to K&N, jj

Yes I do have a 5.9, but the performance gains should be about the same. They all have the same basic design, some better then others. The K&N system costs a little more becuase it comes with a cleaning kit, heat shield, brackets, a completely new intake tube. Others are just sewer pipe and a filter. I hope this helps a little.
