After you added the jacobs system to your dak, did you notice any more static on on FM Radio stations? If so, how did you fix it?

thanks,

Donald

No, havent noticed anything at all. Some people report some vibrations from it as it is mounted against the firewall. But to answer the question, I havent had any problems whatsoever from it. Are you sure its coming from the ignition system? Where on your Dak is it mounted?

OK - sounds like in inside of the "wheel well". If its over there, are there any wires coming from the battery that are touching the box? Is the radio antennae wire touching it anywhere, or coming close to it? How bad is the radio static?

Yes its the Wheel well. I couldn't think of the name. The radio static is just enough to be annoying. Stations that came in clearly are now staticky.

There are no close radio wires near that side. The weird thing is that there is still static when the engine is off. I don't get it.

The Jacobs people said to use a stock wire to connect their coil to the distributor. Doing so would change the frequency and therefore, hopefully, remove the fm radio noise.

So i'll try that as a last resort.

Donald
