Im planning on gettin headers, a computer chip and a new hood with the scoop to compliment my intake. IM running about a 15.5 @ 83 quarter mile and i was wondering what else i could do to my truck to help it out without takin the engine apart and rebuilding it. I was also wondering where i shoudl get the headers and the chip i want to be able to get it at the cheapest price possible will someone please give me adice..thanks

Instead of the chip, you may want to try Bernd's IAT Adjuster 1st ($200vs$35=more mods).

Go to www.speedtweak.net for the IAT Adjuster & the headers. Bernd is a V6 Guru who doesn't mind helping us out.

I was in a website and i found some roller rockers, now i have heard my friends talk about them but never had the balls to ask them what they were so i didnt look like a idiot. They were 30 bucks what will they do and where do they go, how much power or torque would they add?

Well the roller rockers are wha open your intake and exhaust valves for your engine. Aside from installing a larger cam, that's the best way to get more lift on your valves. If you pop off a valve cover you should see six little arms connected to springs on one side and pushrods on the other. They are really easy to replace so I would reccomend it. When you are looking for new one's though, make sure you get the correct ratio. I believe the stock number for the 3.9 is 1.6 (someone correct me if i'm wrong, I'm a V8 guy). If you want the most performance out of that upgrade get some roller rockers that are 1.7's. Hope that helps.

actually on a v6 you should see 12 rockers. one for the intake and another for the exhaust valves. v8's have 16.

How much more horse and torque do you think i would get combined if i got the roller rockers and the iat adjuster? Just a rough estimate at least?

I meant to say that there's six rockers you see if you pull off one valve cover. Nice catch Kota.HP I'd say maybe 7-10 noticeable HP with good rockers.

Actually its the other way around stock is 1.7, so you want to get 1.6s. From what I have been told go with steel ones. Have you considered getting a more aggresive cam, you will notice a big difference with rr's and a cam.

ummm...no 1.6 is the stock ratio. your choices are 1.6 rollers or 1.7 rollers, both for about the same price, $380 @ truckperformance.com for the v6. and i'd go with the steel rockers no matter what the ratio, unless you enjoy adjusting them or replacing your valvetrain. upping the ratio will net you some good hp and torque increase. even the stock ratio will give you a good response because it's a roller type rocker (roller=smoother lift etc) and because the magnum engine's cam is a roller cam. the 1.6 is also recomended if you plan on running nos or forced induction later on. w/ the 1.7 ratios you have to either dimple you valve covers to make room for the extra lift area on your new rockers or you have to figure something else out (ie: thicker valve gaskets etc.)

Hey, I have a 1993 4x4 Dodge Ram and I am a teenager and I love to street race and I was wondering what simple tricks I could do under the hood to make my truck gain horsepower? I already have a K&M airfilter, but thats all I have I reckon. I want every ounce of horsepower I can get because I get tired of losing by a half a bumper. Thanks guys!

Stewart,
Unless you live in some Hillbilly county with Bo and Luke Duke , you should not street race. You could go to jail in some areas, and worse yet you could Kill someone or even yourself. Stick to the tracks.
