Just thought I'd let everyone know that my newest project for my dak is underway. I'm dropping a 488 (V10) in my '92 AWD possibly with a viper 6 sp tranny. I'm also going to body drop it in the process because 4WD suspension can only go so low. WISH ME LUCK!

That sounds both different and fun. You are retaining the 4X4 capabiity! Hmmmmm, Can the transfer case handle that kind of torque? I sure hope it does, good way to get power to ground! Should be like riding a rocket, WAHOO!

With the truck body dropped the hood won't even come close to closing with the 8.0 I cut out the hood and after measuring I found out that I'm gonna have an interesting "shaker" on my hands. The intake goes in a 5" cowl induction on the hood but the valve covers are gonna be poking through the hood as well....he he

Well I got the bed dropped...that was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. Came down a total of about 4 1/2-5". Now on to the fun part...the cab and engine.

Yeah I know I'll fit in the cab with seats. I'm putting in some recaro's that are made for and isuzu impulse(little hatchback). I'll have about 2-3" between my head and the roof with the seat not reclined at all.

I found asweet way to drop the bed instead of cutting out the bottom to fit the frame, etc. I cut all the way around the lip of the bed(inside so that the inside of the bed and outside weren't attached. Then I cut 4" off of the top of the part I cut and welded it back to the outside. Result: bed like a toyata T100 (shallow).

I might have this done in another week or two.

I payed a total of $2400 for the both of them. I don't even know if I'm gonna be able to use the tranny as I haven't looked at it yet. Oh well, can't go wrong with a $1400 viper tranny
