Message: Hi Dak lovers, I need some help and fast. I can get ahold of some Edlebrock headers for my 1990 3.9L V6. As we all know, they are weak and need some boosting. Are these headers worth buying and how much do they effect performance. Also with a 3in body lift, did I need to wory about room in the engine compartment? Please help fast>>>

Message: Thank you for helping me out Donald. I am seriously thinking about going with them. I haveheard they give up 10-15 Hp and are easy to install. Do you know anything about installing them. Pretty Novice Mechanic here but I can get around an engine. Whats with Edlebrock, good or bad, give me some feed back oncthis. Thanks

Message: Joe, If you do buy a new one, I suggest buying a t handle rachet since a standard ratchet is difficult to use in the tight quarters in the engine compartment.
And if you Oxygen sensor is old and rusted, and it hasn't been changed in the past 30000 to 50000 miles, You might want to change it since you have the old one out. Old sensors can really affect fuel economy. They are a pain to get out sometimes, but since you would have it out anyway, then you might want to change it.
Just a suggestion, and tell us how it goes.

Message: Yeah, Joe, I think if you have the tools, then it is very possible for you to do it.
I would set aside a whole evening to do it in though and have lots of penetrating oil, such as WD-40.

Message: Manuel
If you have 495 hp with a '77 454 Chivy I think you have all the parts available in the world in and on it now. The next thing I would suggest is getting a DART 540ci block and some Iron Eagle heads and go from there. Maybe get 550 hp out of it. Then again if you are asking for prices I don't think you can afford it anyway.

Message: hey, i installed Gibson unequal length headers last year and it was one of the best things i ever did. i picked up around 20 hp. It was a pain in the butt to install just because of the working space and getting to the bolts, but other than that it was quite easy. The only thing you realy need to be concerned about is making sure you get a tight seal between the headers and the block. to do this make sure you use rtc sealant.
But you will be very happy with the results, just take your time, make sure you have no exhaust leaks and you will be kicking up a bunch more power.
