Subject: I got rid of the Stalling!!!

I've had a stalling problem with my old dak. I've taken it to many mechanics and even two dealerships yet everyone said it was running ok. I was like uhh no it isn't! The dealerships even put it on the Computer and it said everything was ok.

But especially when the engine was cold or cheap gas was used, it would stall frequently and sometimes the engine would quit. I noticed how rusted the O2 (oxygen) sensor was. So i did a little research and decided to buy anew one. It wasn't very expensive and it claimed to have a platinum tip. At any rate it, I installed it and now I just barely stalls. barely even noticiable.

Oxygen Sensors are supposed to be changed every 30-50K miles according to the maker of my new sensor. My dak not only is old, but it had 80K miles on it still with the factory Sensor. IT was extremely rusted!

I'm also changing the MAP Sensor just because they go bad rather often, and besided mine is 14 years old. maybe slightly older. and i just don't want to have to worry about it later.

Anyone else have stalling problems? Here are some links. Very good sites.

I got it from JC Whitney for 29.99 plus shipping. The regular, non-platinum tiped sensor was like 25.00 so i thought i would spend the few extra dollars and get the platinum tiped one since it was supposed to last longer.
