Hello
I was thinking about putting a supercharger in my 2000 3.9l truck and had a few questions. Who makes a good SC for my truck? How hard are they to put in? Does anything else need to be modified, like the computer? And finally does anyone here have this setup, what are the hp gains and how does it drive?
thanks
Jason

talk to bernd at speedtweaks he is the v6 supercharger man and yes a few things need to be modified like the map sensor, you need to install the map/boost bypass so you don't run lean, a good exhaust and headers ( headers not 100% necessary but they help) good ignition, colder plugs, cooler t-stat. The v6 takes boost well and can take alot of boost on the stock head gaskets so the gains are pretty good plus the whole truck weighs less with the six in it so acceleration is better. The setup should be just fine for the street abd should be reliable just as long as you keep everything in order, as for install on the blower it's not terribly hard but it can take some time and some dirty clothes but all in all it's not that bad. Check out www.speedtweaks.net to see the v6 supercharger kits that are available.

I have a 2000 5.9 R/T.
I have run both Nitrous as well as a ATI Procharger P-1SC on the stock Mopar motor.
I finally got satisfaction with a STS rear mount turbo.
Loved the NOS, blew the head gaskets and piston rings within 500 miles, with the SC.
Rebuilt the motor to a forged 408, and couldn't make more than 5-6 pounds boost before the belt slipped.
Bottom line, the crank pulley on your motor is a small diameter, like mine. To make boost, you need a larger SC pulley. No matter what I did, it slipped! I spent TONS of money and time, and couldn't make it work.
STS turbo, 14-16 pounds of boost on a 408 = 645 RWHP. KRCperformance can provide the tune.
Hope this helps you out.
