Subject: Clicking noise! HELP
IP: Logged

Message:
Lately I have been hearing this clicking noise that only happens when I accelerate, and if I get on it, and then let off of the gas. It sounds like that it may be coming from up under the hood, but not sure. The noise is real fant, and you can only hear it if you try too. Dont know what it might be, maybe the throttle cable, or something along that line. If someone has, or is dealing w/ the same problem, and might know what it is, please let me know.

Thanks, Justin

Now that I come to think about it (after driving a little while longer) it only does it once, or maybe twice can't realy tell, but it does it when the tranny changes gears, or when I'm about to come to a stop it does it then too, is this normal?
Justin please help!

Justin, the clicking noises are perfectly normal. On the trucks with the underhood insulation, it shouldn't be as noticeable, but if yours is like mine and doesn't have the insulation, you can hear it if you try. Don't be scared, it's only the injectors firing their mix into the cylinders. And the clicking noises when you shift into D or R is just the solenoids in the trans engaging. If you didn't know, ours trans are both electronically controlled. They have a few solenoids inside that control the shifts that used to be hydraulically controlled in older style trannies. Hope I helped a little.
