kid at my school has an el camino with a 305. he put a 3/4 cam in it with headers and header mount glasspaks. they have turndowns on them and theyre
sagging pretty bad, so they scrape over bumps but because theyre so close to the ground they sound mean.

anyhow, the tires on it are some old Pro-Trac tires we found out in a field. they're pretty dry and cracked, but they spin real easy and they put on a good smoke show. he aint got a stick in el camino, so he has to tack it up in neutral and jerk it down into low, but its a turbo350 tranny that my cousin Lonnie built, so it don't break. he also put a B&M shift kit in it, and it'll spin the tires hard on a 70mph 1-2 shift (it gots tall gears, and the Pro-Tracs are like 29" tall. we had to take a torch to the fender lips to get them to clear. it started to rust around the fenders, so we painted them with grey primer)

my cars a Dak killer and it gots a stick, so I can dig out anytime any place... and my car's
mostly primer with a hot pink Ultra Hot sticker for the ladies.

do you wear checkered Vans sneakers?

I gots a painters cap with flaps on the back of it.

Though not really a dak killer as much as a flipping fast car, my sister's fiance had a '70 Elky w/ a heavily built 377 that dynoed at 580HP and 440Lb/ft of torque, he shifted at 7500.

The guy who currently owns the drivetrain put a 1050 dominator and it STILL has a problem getting enough fuel to the cylinders (now gets shifted at 8200)

iirc he pulled 10-11s and it was streetable. He had to sell it to pay bills (like alimony)

He currently is working on a tamer '69 that he got for free and is putting a 350 in.

Okay, I'm gonna make one post and let this thread die:

Burnouts do not equal power. With a proper technique burnouts can be achieved for miles (literally) or until component failure.

If this is a Dodge "truck" site then why are y'all talkin bout racin Camaros, Mustangs, and Civics? Trucks are made for haulin stuff, not haulin' ass, and a DAK is far from a racin machine. I have a 4.7 QC and it ain't slow, but I know the only way I'm beatin one of those CARS is if I run it over first. Keep it real and maybe people like my bro won't post bout their sick rides....suckers

Larry!
Your QC w/ a 4.7 is an awsome truck. But if you have a 4X4 and/or auto and depending on whether you have a 3.55 or 3.92 rear your acceleration is going to be quite a bit slower. Now if you have an RC 4X2 4.7 5sp with a 3.92 rear that's is capable of running 0-60 under 7 sec and a 1/4 mi at under 15 sec-STOCK. Now any way you slice it that's some pretty respectable performance. Now you add some tweakage to to that package and you might just be able to run with the ponies.

Hey Lesly, you don't think Andrew and Darrel might be related?

Dr.Q

Ok thats all good and everything but here is the carziest thing I have seen in awhile Mike Morris the Mn Vikings former long snapper has a 97 jeep wrangler and he wanted to make it faster so the shop that my friend is a painter at Mike stopped in one day and they said why don't you put in a Viper motor it's shorter than the 6 and with a few mods it will fit so to make a long storie short he had it done and he can smoke all 4 wheels at once in 4x4 the man is insane

Larry, if you don't think that trucks are supposed to be made for racing and speed then how come they make the R/T and the Ford lighning? You can't haul much with a bed cover and I beleive that both of those trucks usually have bed covers, and if you don't beleive that they're fast then how can an R/T hang with a SS and a lighning (with two shots of NOS) hang with a viper?

TWO tanks of NOS??!! I hope those are the BIG tanks!! LOL. What a joke.

They can't keep up! And about those trucks(Lightning etc)... they are a waist of natural resources. They are stupid. And so is the whole notion of RACING...TRUCKS. Why not just hop up a school bus? I hear the new school busses really have some balls! LOL. only a few easy "mods" and you could even run with DAKOTAS!! LOL!

Hey Hector if you don't beleive that the Lighning hung w/the Viper with two Tanks of NOS and a few mods, then look in the 2001 June or JULY issue of truckin, yeah the NOS played a big role, without it the truck would probably run about two seconds slower, but they are fast trucks considering the charger and high performance exhaust that comes factory, but he also had a few extras. So why don't you find out for yourself before you LOL, MR. Majic school bus.

The reason I race my truck is that it is the only thing Dodge has to offer that is late model rearwheel drive, relatively light(compared to the ram) short of a viper. And I prefer to drive a dodge.
