WOO HOO! I finally got my headers installed. I had to pay to get them installed because they were rusted to the engine. lol its an 87 after all. It cost 60 dollars to get it installed!!! It took 6 hours!!! So i gess 10 dollars per hour is good.

I love the new sound. I have a little more power and my idle is more smooth! My friends have said they noticed they had a lot more power, but they have cat backs or high performance mufflers. I have stock Muffler. So i just notices a little improvement.

So My headers cost 300 dollars installed! Wow that is almost as expensive has my Jacobs Ignition!

Nice work. However I wonder about that installation price. How experienced was that shop? Most places will quote a standard rate of $300 for installation. So I HOPE it was a good deal, at least in the long term.

Also, did your Edelbrocks have emission connections? The Mopar headers for those Dakota's do not.

Be prepared to tighten the headers at least every other month, depending on mileage. Those bolts will loosed up with excessive heat.

Get yourself a nice custom muffler and custom pipes, at least 2.5" is what I got. I also have a Borla muffler and no cat. That reminds me, your stock cat is EXTREMELY restrictive. Get a nice aftermarket one if you can.

I've added a cheap high flow cat, it wasn't as good as the Random Tech cats, but it serves the purpose.

What are emissions connections? Like a place for the oxygen sensor? It had a place for everything that was on the original headers including the Oxygen senor. Edelbrock is the brand.. the only people who seem to make them for my dak.

I have more power now, it almost reminds me of my V8 Chevy! I would still have the chevy if the body didn't rust into pieces, But now i love my Dak.
