I have not had to do this on a Dakota... but I have done this on many, many other vehicles. You didn't say how old your truck is. Hopefully it is not too old. The newer it is the better chance the bolt is not rusted in real bad. Also, hopefully the bolt broke off above the surface of the block. This will allow you to 'grab' on to it in order to un-screw it. If there is some bolt left to grab on to, first try some channel-locks (locking pliers). But, be very careful! Lock the pliers onto the bolt as tight as you can... and very gently try to unscrew the bolt. If you don't feel the bolt comming loose right away... STOP! (If you chew up the stud you will make it more difficult to remove.) The next solution is to get a stud-remover. This is a tool that has 'teeth' that bite into the screw the harder you turn. This should do the trick.

If the bolt is broken off inside the block, you will have to drill a hole down the middle of the bolt and use an 'easy-out' to extract the broken stud. If you are not familiar with this task, please get some help from someone who is. Doing this the wrong way can make a not-so-bad situation REALLY BAD.

Worst case scenario: you have to drill out the hole, re-thread and install a thread-insert (for the life of me I can't remember their name... I can't believe this! Someone help me out!)

In all cases, using a torch and adding some heat usually helps.

Oh yeah, one last thing. I forgot to say that you will have to remove the manifold first! Not sure if you knew that already or not! Sorry if you did... not trying to insult your intelligence.
