Ok, so im finally getting my truck back from the body shop (slight misshap), and i was thinking about what performance mods should come next. So far i have (here we go): Jet Stage II, 180 t-stat, bosh +4s, z-tube, IAT Adjuster, JBA headers, Gibson Single cat back, Roadmast Active Suspension, MTX Thunderforms, and im sure there is some stuff i have forgotten. Anyways, what else is there? I am planning on buying a 72mm Flometrics TB with in the next month or so, then its time to save up for the Kenne-Bell i guess. Is MSD supposed to come out with a (cost effective) kit for the 4.7s anytime soon? As far as i know, thats basically all there is left. Anyways, im just lookin for some ideas. Thanks for any tips and advice.

I'd go with an aftermarket ignition system. There is a wide range to choose from. Also, get yourself a nice air intake system, like K&N, for mucho air flow coming in. These are some definites!

Yes i would agree, go with an ignition system
if it is possible since there is 8 coils.however
scrap the tb idea. waste of time. Get your
hands on a set of underdrive pulleys. And put
in a mild cam. Sh1t boy, if you had a reg cab
youd be dead by now...

Your blowing smoke teamfast. What company has developed a mild cam for the OHC 4.7? I don't beleive the ignition system is ready yet for the 4.7

There is an underdrive pulley available but it's exspensive. I think it's from ASE.

Sounds like your truck is really coming along nicely Glen. You can also try running just the electric fan. I also want a SC for my eventually.

Later.

Actually I got this email from MSD on the ignition system. It is as follows;
Sir
We currently offer the MSD DIS4 PN# 6215 for your application. We do not sell direct, so we do not have retail pricing. We recommend that you contact your local speed shop or MSD supplier to get pricing. We have a list of dealers on our web page that will help you find a dealer in your area. It would be cheaper if you get pricing and availability through an MSD Dealer our prices are 30 to 40% higher, the following is the website address for the list of dealers that you can contact for pricing. www.msdignition.com

THANK YOU

MSD TECH.

If your thinking about a Kenne Bell, dn't waste your time or money on an intake system. The kit has all you will need.

Well, i was thinking about an underdrive pully, but what does it do to my alt. and other belt drivin devices? Wouldnt the change is speeds be 'bad' for them? Also when i do get the money for the Kenne-Bell, wouldnt having an underdrive mess with its boost and what not? I'll give MSD a call and talk to them about a system for my 4.7, but somewhere i thought they wherent ready yet. I thought about getting the Flometrics TB, but i'll just wait and get it when i get the Kenne-Bell. I guess there really isnt that much for me to do for a while. Oh ya, electric fans. I have been looking for an electric fan to replace my clutch, but i havent been able to find one. Does anyone know of a company that makes a kit for a '01 4.7 with the factory electric fan? (i have 2 fans). Anyways, thanks for the ideas. :)

Underdrive pulleys will slow your alternator
down thus giving it less charging
power(usually a concern under idle) Unless
you are pushing alot of electronics at idle I
wouldnt worry. As for the cam, i know there
isnt one avail. yet, sh1t they dont even have a
cold air intake perfected yet, i was just
suggesting that for the next mod. Its not like
this truck is at the races next sunday Jeffster.
