I've got a 1997 CC 5.2L V8 and I need help with my exhaust. Right now I've got a Thrush Glasspack on it and it sounds decent and has a nice low growl to it...but I want louder! I'm looking for something that'll be a lot louder. People have given me the following ideas:
1. Eliminate cat, straight pipe.
2. Eliminate cat, performance muffler.
3. Hi-Flow cat, straight pipe.
4. Gibson Dual exhaust or any dual exhaust for that matter. Etc. Etc. The list goes on and on.
Any of these sound like a good idea? I'm not looking to spend a ton of money on this and I have had so many ideas and suggestions that I've lost myself on what to do. Any suggestions and personal experiences are more than welcome. Thanks for your help.

I recently installed a flowmaster force II single 3" catback. I like the performance, but it's probably not for you if your after a monster sound. My dad has a 2001 ram that he just put dual exhaust on. It's called a "power pack" (I've never heard of it before he put it in). It's a single in, with a 2.5 dual outlet. On top of that, he has these stainless steel exhaust tips that are about 2 ft long that open up to somewhere between 3 and 3.5 inches. Looks nice, and you can definitely hear it in the cab and outside the cab. Much louder than mine, and he says he did notice some performance gain out of his 5.9.

if you pull the cat and run straight pipe- it is
pretty loud but there is back pressure popping and
an occasional backfire when gearing down - at
least w/ my experience on 1998 cc 5.2 5spd - oh
yeah local P.D. didnt like it much!
