Oh boy! Here we go again.Anthony is wright,it depends on what you are going to do with them.I have a 5.2 and with the 5.9, both are proven engines so you,in my opinion,could not go wrong with either.However the performence numbers are not much diff so if you are worried about gas mileage but still want good performace go with the 5.2. The 5.9 has about 50flbs of trq compared to the 5.2 so if you wanted to hual anything or like to camp this would be a good choice.Just remember both are proven engines so go with what fits you the best!

Mileage on both are awful, so, if you have the choice, go with the 5.9.
If they had offered it in '99 in a QC 4X4, I would have checked that option box in a flash.
Get the 5.2 and you'll forever be trying to make it run like a 5.9, so why not start out with the big boy in the first place?
