I am thinking of buying a performance PCM... I was wondering what kind of MPG change there would be...... i am at about 13 city now.....

You cannot get the Mopar PCM anymore. Due to EPA restrictions, Mopar no longer sells PCMs. Best bet is to get a KRC flash or Jet chip or Hypertech

Only PCM that has been discontinued to my knowledge are the ones for the 4.7. 5.2 and 5.9 are still available last I checked. Have they stopped them?

I know that they are not available for the 4.7. I have already tried to get one. They are listed n my 2001 MOpar performance catalog but according to Dodge, they stopped making and selling them and did not have time to change it in the catalog. Again this is only for the 4.7. I really have been wanting to get one for my 99 5.2. Hope they are still available.

I called the Mopar catolouge line and the operator said that eh 4.7 PCm is discontinued, however the 5,2-5,9 are still being sold until stocks are no longer available. Mopar has been told by the EPA to discontinue manufactoring PCM modules because they do not conform to EPA regulations.

Okay ... here's a question for ya ... will the Mopar R/T PCM work in my 5.9L quad cab 4x4? Does the PCM have anything to do with 4x4 operation? Or do they list 4x4 PCMs seperate from 4x2? If the R/T's will work in mine it sounds like I better grab one up before stock is gone!

My 2001 Mopar Perf catalog doesnt list one specifically for the R/T. It does however break them down by emissions for California and Federal and by 4x2 and 4x4. The one listed for a Federal 5.9 2000 4x4 Durango is P5007207. Dont list one for the 5.9 Dakota 4x4, only a 5.9 Dakota 4x2.

I just purchased the MP PCM,for my 99'R/T,once installed what does the dealership have to do to the new PCM besides Flashingit with the Vin and Odom?I have been told by some dealersips,that the have to burn programing into the new PCM,is this True?

Hey JimRT DO NOT LET THE DEALER TRY AND CHANGE THE PROGRAMING!!!!!!!!! All they have to do is encode the VIN and ODO ... if they try and "BURN" programing into the PCM you might as well have bought a stock one

I FOUND A MOPAR PCM FOR MY 99 R\T, MY TRUCK IS STILL UNDER FACTORY WARRENTY, WILL IT VOID THE WARRENTY IF I GET IT AND PUT IT IN MY TRUCK, I WAS JUST WANDERING CAUSE I AM NOT FAMILAR WITH THE MOPAR PCM.

If it is a true MOPAR PCM, the it will not void your warranties. Any performance part marketed through Mopar that is specifically for your vehicle will not void anything. Most parts that Mopar sells are made by someone else and just branded and marketed by Mopar. They must perform tests to ensure the stability and safety of the product before they put thier name on it. The PCM is made by Mopar. Just a stock unit with different firmware.
