Wow ... it is sure hard to find any recent info about superchargers on a 4.7 !

I've read just about every post I could find, and pretty much all of them are from 2003 and before (insert frownie icon)

So ... all you people that installed Superchargers back in 2000-2003(Paxton, KB, or what have you) ... how is your reliability ? Still got your SC on your Dak ?
Love it ? Hate it ? Want to sell it ?

In addition ... any reason why you would not want to use an "oil cooler sandwich adapter" to provide the oil feed and drain lines for a supercharger ?

(just learnin' everything I can before I put an SC on my Dak ( IF I CAN FIND ONE FOR SALE ANYWHERE ! )

Got my answers from Paxton.

1) Shouldn't use a sandwich for oil supply (input must be high pressure, output is "gravity fed", so it must drain "straight down" to oil pan).

2) Paxton no longer makes anything for Dak's (brackets and Novi 1000 are no longer produced)

So ... it is now impossible to purchase a new supercharger for a 4.7L Dakota (SMOG LEGAL).

... insert frownie icons ....

Anybody got one for sale ?

p.s. ... SMOG LEGAL = California A.R.B. exemptions are only available on Paxton 1201216 kit and KB Roots kit (on 2001 4.7L Dak)

Man this is fun (not) ... seems like no one on this planet is interested in discussing Dakota performance anymore .... I guess I'll have to get back to my other projects ....

In addition, through further research, it is clear that their are in fact NO SMOG LEGAL superchargers for a 2001 4.7L Dakota in California (engine family 1CRXT04.72D2 - subject to Supplemental Federal Test Procedure). Look here: http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermkt/devices/amquery.php

Anyhow .... back to searching the interweb for some way to make it so my Dak can tow "as much as" a "modern" diesel full sized truck ....
... over Grant's Pass at 65+
