 Subject: 2.5 to 5.2 swap

I'm doing a swap to a 84 318 police interceptor I have a 90 4x2 dakota with a manual trans (np 535) what manual trans should I find for it. I dont think the np 535 will stand up to my driving style. I was thinking about a ax-15 or should I go with a nv3500?

NV3500 is your best bet. AX-15 won't last long behind the 318.

Of course you go with an NV3500! Makes shure its a HD version if you want increase in power, There rated for 350 ft toruqe,.

I was leaning on the nv3500 was only thinking about the ax-15 because the guy at the salvage yard said they were easier to get and cheaper.

Brad just ignore james his missed his meds today.
Todd was right the ax15 won't last, It was a 6 cyl.
