OK guys here it is, I got my 408 built and running but it comes with some problems!! Lets start simple, When put on a scanner it says that its running lean, but when you pull a plug out its shows thats its way rich. The injectors are running @ 6.0 milliseconds and the map is at 2.8 volts, the timing is set at -4 degrees because it won't idle when in time. I have the stock injectors on, but do have 30# but wont even start with them on it. the ECM was flashed buy KRC. ANy suggestions would be nice.
I have talked to Marty at KRC and he says its out of time which has been checked and double checked. But it wont idle when in time @ 0 degrees on the scanner only at -4.

Edelbrock Aluminum heads
M-1 intake 54mm TB
224B KRC Cam
1.6 Crane roller rockers
Supercharged @ 10#
30lb injectors

0º BTDC is NOT in time. and 4ºBTDC may not be enough. Try 10.

How are you adjusting your timing... with a timing light or with a scanner? You cant adjust it proper with a hand held timing light. My '03 R/T likes to run at -6 adjusted with a Snap-On scanner . Are you 100% sure you got the timing chain right ... if you are off even one tooth it can screw with you ...

Could the flash be wrong?? It idles good but when you get in the gas it falls on it face and spits and sputters?? What should the timing be set at???

I am also running a 408 with Edlebrock aluminum heads but its not supercharged. I run a KRC408 cam with 1.7 rockers and 24lb FMS injectors. I to had Marty do the computer work and he did a great job for my truck. I did go with the SCT Tuner and did need a few more programs to fine tune the top end. My problem was my exhaust was too restrictive and fixed it with a custom 3" single magnaflow exhaust. The computer reads the O2 sensor for lean or rich adjustments so make sure that these are hooked up. Marty is good with the advice so it is possible that the cam is off. The crank position sensor and PCM control timing advance and is located on the rear of the block and reads the flexplate slots for proper timing. I think the problem is somewhere in the O2 sensor and injector combo. Good luck with the supercharger.

Thnxs MC, Marty says the timing is off but it won't run at 0 on the scanner, it will start but won't idle and you've got to stay in gas to keep it running. The cam was installed at 106 degrees, i lost the cam card and my builder says that this was right for this cam but i dont know??? If this was wrong could it cause the problems i've been getting??? And if so how would i go to get a new cam card?? My cam is the 224B KRC cam.

Just a thought but if "one side is lean and the other is rich" then is it possible that one of the vacumn lines is not plugged that should be. I remember a few ports that needed to be plugged on that M1 manifold. Why would one side be different from another? Any wiring get pinched during removal and installation?

Also that fuel rail has a crossover tube to the other side. What fuel setup are you using and is it giving enough flow? I did discuss this with Marty and we removed a fuel flow regulator disc in the pickup inside the rear tank. Another idea what is your fuel pressure?

Hi everyone. First time I have posted on you guys forum I ran across. Felt I could provide some insight to this quite expansive "suggestion" list here. First, if you are running the stock Chrysler JTEC PCM that was "Tuned", by someone who sounds like hasn't had any answers for you, things to know related to this discussion topic. All JTECs, even after being altered,re-mapped,emulated, or calibrated have a set method, per internal hardware, of calculating "inputs" to produce "output" controls like timing maps, fuel maps, ets. Both Ignition Base Timing as well as the Advance Can NOT and are NOT being adjustewd in the manner others are stating. For more info, let me know. Id be glad to help and inform you of what can and can not be adjusted/performed to your engine issues, and exactly how they work.
