2003 Dakota QC 4x4 4.7 I've been hearing a lot about putting new HO cams in the 4.7. Is that all I have to do is buy them and have them installed, simple as that? How much do they help? Thanks.

Jon, Ambr is right, the 212X cams are awesome. But the best part is that SCT has started supporting the 4.7 now. I am a dealer for KRC and the SCT tuning is really no joke, its good stuff. The HO cams arent really that great for the time it takes to install them. If you go with something from the aftermarket such as the 212's, you will see some pretty good bang for the buck though. I actually have a set sitting on the shelf downstairs that I pulled out of my truck if you are interested, and I could set you up with a tuner for them.

The cams are $849 retail I think.... I'll have to check on that cause they show up as $699 when you add them to the shopping cart on KRCPerformance.com. I'm gonna say around $650 for the used set? Tuning is with SCT Flash. Check it out on my site or feel free to look around on KRC's site or SCTFlash.com. Both are linked on my site.

Do your research before you spend this kinda money. Used reground cams for $850 and a tuner for $600 that you can get elsewhere for $400?

I'm not asking 850 for used cams, the price I suggested was 650 cause it seems fair. He hasn't gotten back to me anyway. Plus, it was just an offer, its still up for a counter offer... Plus, the SCT Flash would be a custom flash to go with those cams. If you can find something that will make the same power for 400 please let me know because somebody is ripping me off.

You can buy HO cams and send to Crane and have them reground yourself for way less. Call crane and ask them. They will grind any way you want.
