that can be backed up.... wasnt due to oil but my neighbor used royal purple in all his vehicles but anyway his brand new truck he had for about a month lost oil pressure due to the shaft that drives the pump off the cam had broke due to the pump failure... a peice of the gear broke off and it had jammed up the pump and the cam twisted the shaft... took it back to dealer they did an oil sample and test... his truck was fixed and back to him in a week at no charge

I LEARNED THE TRUTH ABOUT API

All vehicle manufacturers in the U.S. have agreed that a warranty cannot be denied because a customer was using any particular brand of oil that meets specifications, unless an engine failure was directly attributable to the fluid. If it is not a fluid related failure, they cannot void the warranty. The law supports this position.

I too was sceptical in the beginning.
But now I am a believer.

Amsoil meets and exceeds API specs.

I had nothing better to do than look at all your
info/sites listed in your LAME attempt to flame amsoil.
I was a Dodge mechanic for 20 yrs (certified) but
gave it up because I was becoming alergic to to all
the fumes and petroleum products.

here is what i found:

1 - Mobil1 is Group3 dino juice and not really a
synthetic oil. (Amsoil is PAO G4 synthetic)

2 - API means nothing. It is in place for the
gov't to make $ and make make people comfortable
that an oil meets a minimum standard if they see
it on an "el cheapo" garage shelf at 99 cents/qt

been updated since 2002. A lot will happen in
5 years so don't quote outdated info.

ZDDP

I was a mechanic at the time. Every customer
that came in had read similar info. They all
wanted oil with low zddp to save their $1,000
cat converter.

Again, the gov't had released a false document.
The truth was the cat's were made from weak
components and it was not the zddp.

Plus, like all gov't studies, the fine print
said the cat "might" fail when the odom got to
over 200,000 miles. they never really tested
a cat. just the material inside the cat.

That reminds me of the gov't saccharine scare.
Remember the "mouse" scare? If a mouse ate in
one day what a consumer ate in 25 lifetimes,
he might develop cancer. ha ha . Don't ya love
those gov't tests!

They are all B.S. gov't tests just like API.

4 - www.performanceplusoil.com

Performance Plus Oil is a Quaker State owned
quickie lube still telling everyone to change
their oil at 3k mile intervals. Their only
interest is in getting you back every 3k miles
for another oil change (and whatever else they
can upsell). Of course they are going to say
bad things about any oil that advertises more
than 3k mile oil changes. It is QS owned.

Shall I continue or have you now learned that
you should do your homework before you copy/paste.

Redline doesn't care either.
None of their oils are API.
They use a lot of ZDDP too.

ZDDP is an antiwear additive in almost every synthetic oil. ZDDP is phosphorus. For products that meet the new ILSAC GF-4 specification the phosphorus levels for the oil must be less than 800 ppm phosphorus. (Many of our Mobil1 oils are over 1000 ppm and are not API cert.)

The alternative is MOLY (like graphite) used by Royal Purple.

Now that we have that out of the way ...

We must agree that Amsoil is really the best !!!!

We cheapened our oils by switching all our
base oils to crude oil instead of synthetic oil.

This saved us millions of $$$ and the public
has no clue that we are ripping them off.

Only PAO oils are true synthetics.
Mobil does NOT offer any true PAO synthetic oil.

Our name alone sells the product. Not the quality.
We could put muddy water in the bottle and people
would buy it.

Our only interest is PROFITS and a cheap price
on the Walmart shelfs.

SWITCH TO PAO SYNTHETIC AMSOIL

Amsoil is a Genuine Synthetic PAO Formulated G4 Motor Oil
