I haven't done a swap, but I may be of some help...
A little more info would be helpful. Is your truck the 98, is that the motor year, or both?
The one thing I advise is checking into the tranny. You probably have a NV1500 and it will not handle the torque of a 318 (at least very long). Someone back me up on this. I dont know, but a NV3500HD will probably bolt right up. Is you truck 4WD? I have heard that the oil pan can be an issue when swapping into a 4x4.
Also, I doubt the 2.5L PCM will drive the 5.2. I hope you have the PCM for the 318.
