I have an 02' 4x4 4.7L 5spd Dakota and I'm looking to replace my Y-pipe with one that has no cats. Is there any company that makes them after market? I'll probably end up removing my pipe and having the cats removed. Any help please. Mike E

Nope. Ain't none. Those catalytic converters are the monolithic type. They're free-flowing. Save the money a custom exhaust would cost you for things that can give more tangible results.

Any exhaust shop should be able to fab one up for you. Try to find a shop that doesn't do the crush bend stuff if you can. Its gonna cost more for mandrel bent stuff, but it gets better flow.

mike. After reading in another post about the stock y-pipe being such a bottle neck in the 4.7 exhaust I did a little research and found that summitracing.com offered the following magnaflow stamped y-pipes. Dual 2.5"in 3"out part# mpe-10778 at $25.95 and the 2.25" in 2.5" out part# mpe-10758 at$25.95 and the dual 4" in single 4" out part# mpe-10799 at $53.95 in their exhaust department. Hope that helps.

I've had a Magnaflow y-pipe and their Carsound hi-flow cat. for about a year now on my '01 4.7. Together, about a 1 mpg improvement. The stock y-pipe is crushed to a 1 1/2" inside diameter on each side entering the neck. www.magnaflow.com has them listed.

www.stans-headers.com makes a nice set of headers with a custom 2.25 mandrel bent Y pipe into a 3" single. I run them on my 2003 4x4.

Nothing flows like a straight pipe

Look under accessories on www.magnaflow.com The y-pipe and x-pipe are different items.
