I have a 04 4.7L club cab and I put the transgo shift kit in it a few months ago. When driving it it shifted better but would sound kind of like it was hitting the rev limiter just a tad when shifting, and the shifts were just better but not banging like I had hope for. Well I have just lived with it being like this and figured that was all their was going to be to it. So fast forward to couple days ago, I'm at my buddy's mechanic shop putting in the Suicide Doors C-notch, and I noticed a large electric plug towards front of tranny is not latched on the whole way. The latch kind of rolls over to snap on. So we plug it all the way back in, get done with the notch, and when I take the truck out and drive it, the truck shifts like a sumbitch and barks 2nd for the first time in its life~!! Every gear it is hitting extremely hard when it hits and I was extremely happy!
A few hours later I go get my sniper grille put on, and when I drive home it goes back to shifting like it was before, so I checked the plug and its still plugged in tight. Nothing has changed now to this day and I'm wondering what happened to make it shift so hard that one day and now quit. Anybody have any guesses on this???

Since you didn't plug the trans connector back in properly...

Did you also install the resistor? And if you did, are you sure you installed it correctly?
Did you reset the PCM after the connector was finally plugged in properly (so it could adjust to the higher line pressure that the resistor gives)?
