mike, the awd could be done but, i don't think the stock Dak system could stand the v10's torque. anything is possible with a bottomless wallet.

gregk, who's to say it's a waste of time? if you have the money and it's what you want to build, it is not a waste of time.

Many people that do such things don't hang out on the internet talking about it. They are too busy doing it.

They never made one... 6-speed manual is the only way to go. Ha.

Finally... a V8. '01 Dodge Dakota RC, 4.7, 5-speed, 3.92 LSD. = R/T Killer.

josh, i don't know if DC has an auto trans to stand up to the v10 besides what might be in the 3500 trucks. personally i'd want the 6spd.

Mike, that was my advice or answer if you will. Nobody says you have to like it. You are the one that posed the question of whether or not everyone would post pictures of their projects on the internet.

There are 2 different viper engine blocks, one to bolt up to an automatic tranny, and one for the standard tranny's. the only difference between the two is the right side dowl pin is offset outwards more for the standards. The auto tranny they use in the SRT-10 trucks is the same tranny they use in the diesels, the 48RE.

viper engine in a dakota would be alot of custom work, but the end result would be pretty effin cool

yeah, what they said

and besides
the v-10 in the old 2500 and 3500 was a 47RH or a 47RE
there are some diesels out there (chevys) that they cant build the alison 1000 strong enough for, so they swapped in a built 47RH

1990 sport RC SB, 1995 318drivetrain, 3.92 gears (came with truck) Powertrax "traction system", 95 dash/steering wheel, hearthrob exhaust, headers, cutout after y-pipe, necessary electric fan add-a-leafs, 30x9.5 mud tires, cranked T-bars, AR 39 15x8 rims, grill guard, roll bars
