Daddio- I would hate to bust your bubble but, the Tundra was not designed in America. It may have been "assembled" or "built" in America......not designed or engineered inAmerica you dips**t!!! As far as fags like you goes....did I say anything about you being the first fags to go for the non-american rice burning pieces of S**t? Don't think so. Don't even know why I am wasting my time replying to you. Bring it to the bog where I took second place in a field of 11 trucks again tonight....losing to a Chevy!!!

tundras are made in san antonio, texas. what's imported? sheet metal? engine?

hate to say it, but how much of our dakotas are imported? probably the same (if not more).

who cares where it was designed?? toyota and all the other "imports" have been making jobs for americans while the big three are cutting them left and right.

i've only owned chrysler products, and i probably will only own chrysler products. I'm on my third dakota and love it. i've also had a durango, a lebaron, and shelby charger, but give respect where it's due.

bring it to the bog?? i figure you'll only hear that from someone who's only line of defense is calling them a fag.

Let's get back to Dakotas and forget I offended the Toyota guy....who shouldn't have posted here, that you Dakota guys are so willingly standing up for. Sell your Daks or trade them in on JAP CRAP!!!! Next thing you know, you guys will be bashing Harley Davidsons!! Hope I didn't just open the door for one of you Kawasaki Ninja loving fags ....in a Dakota forum.

Wylman - perhaps I was wrong, when I posted on another thread, that I thought you might have some valuable contributions to make to this site - once we got some of your misconceptions cleared up.
Lets NOT forget you offended the Toyota guy - despite being called on your trash talking earlier, you're right back to it. Other people have every bit as much right to post here as you do. I guess you're too young to understand that wrongly calling people fags doesn't further your argument, it makes you look ridiculous. Often people who do that do it because they aren't so sure about there own orientation. Maybe that's part of your problem.

Ever own a real Harley Davidson ? Or are you one of these guys who only owns the t-shirt ? I've owned all kinds of bikes - Yamaha, Kawasakis (including the Z1 - first street bike capable of doing 140 stock, mine was extremely modified on top of that), Hondas, Rokon (made in New Hampshire) and yes, Harley. The Harley was one of the worst designed of the bunch, and one of the least reliable. Recently, it's become trendy to be associated with Harley; big deal. Some of the guys I see on Harleys these days often make me laugh. Many wobble along as they approach a stop, with no idea of how to balance and brake. Not that they're all like that, but seems like more than their fair share of novice riders who have no idea what they are doing; or what motorcycling is all about (it's not about being trendy). When we get right down to it, all bikes are fun, and the variety of it is part of what makes it interesting. I've ridden many kinds of bikes, trading rides with freinds, including many Harleys. Their owners weren't phony snobs like you; but more interested in riding, than being trendy. If you're primarily coming to this site to talk trash, you're going to be looking like a buffoon.

Whatever- I wasn't calling anyone a fag in specific. I have told ehoever it was.....with The Tundra fetish....they won. I am over it. History. By the way...as for being a phony...I not only own a Harley Davidson, I own three....and they are all the "AMF" year Harleys. I also built all three of them. I was raised aound bikers and by bikers, not the Trendy wobbly guys you see at the stop lights that DO look quite silly. I refer to them as future statistics. One of my bikes is a 75 xlh1000, that is my daily ride. I am building a 76 xlh1000 and an 80 shovelhead. I too have owned all types of bikes. If I were not into old Harleys, it would be the brit bikes I would ride and build. I am done responding to this thread. I am sorry for "offending" a Tundra guy in a Dakota forum.

Best bang for your buck is the HO cams. Try a set of those, a HO manifold and either a Superchips or custom flash from KRC, B&G or SoCal.

Finally... a V8. '01 Dodge Dakota RC, 4.7, 5-speed, 3.92 LSD. = R/T Killer.
well at least a stock one

Alan:

I would go with the KRC 206 cams. I have the HO's now and I wish I would have gotten the 206's. I'm not sure if they are more expensive, but I think its worth. I am dreading having to take off my valve covers again to put in the 206's.

Hey hotkadota-is their a huge difference between the 206 and the 212 or 212x? I can find info and specs on all of them but, nothing that gives me any real world feedback. Which of these do you think would help me most in a 200 ft blast. I will also be installing four ten gears over the winter. Are there cams that would work better with those gears??

I'm not very experienced with the cams, but I think that the 206 and 212 cams are more for top end. I know the HO cams help out alot with the mid range gains, and that would probably get you to 200' faster than top end gains from the 206's or 212's.

Kowalski knows a crapload about the cams, maybe he will chime in with some info.

Now with all that being said, you'll be higher in RPM's if you go to 4.10 gears so a more top end biased cam might be better.

Alan - I only have the HO cams, which work well for me as I just wanted a reasonably quick truck that would tow and plow really well. Generally speaking, the deeper you go with gears and converter stall speed, the hotter you can go with the cams. Graphite Dak seems happy he went with the deeper 4.56 ratio; that and the bigger cams might be the direction you should go for what you want with your truck. I'd also suggest a bigger TB, more spark advance (flash or reputable chip), better flowing exhaust, and, once you've got all that, the K&N FIPK would be a good candidate for your high reving runs. Good luck, and my apologies for contributing to the sidetracking of your thread. Let us know how you make out.

Alan, judging from your original post you're looking for a 1/4 mile screamer. i don't have much specific info on the 4.7 to give you but, this is my advice. if that's in fact what you're going to use the truck for, go for hi rpm horsepower. but get components that work well together. i'm sure there aren't many parts except cams, headers, gears and re-programming the PCM, either with a chip, tuner or custom flash.

first and foremost though, make sure you know exactly what you're going to use the truck for. otherwise you'll waste a wad of dough on your truck and you won't like it.

If he is wanting a 1/4 mile screamer he should go with the KRC 224 supercharged cams, Paxton supercharger turned up to around 20psi, go forged internals, fully port the heads, get a set of custom long-tube headers, use a F.A.S.T. computer system, 4-link the rear, tub it, stuff some fat a$$ tires in the back, get a tremec 5 or 6 speed manual gearbox, some lower gears, custom fab'd intake manifold, 72mm throttle body and I am running out ideas.
