I own a 1999 Dakota R/T. The transmission won't shift out of first until about 3,000 rpm after sitting in traffic or a long trip down the freeway. It don't do it all the time, but it's frequent enough!

we just did a log block install on my sons 97 dakota V6, I went ahead and put a new torque converter in it while it was apart, 82 bucks and well worth it. The truck now shifts like it has a new tranny in it. He is happy, he's truck is like brand new again.
