Subject: clutch suggestions?

Message:
My clutch squeeks after about 10-15 minutes of driving and I believe it is a bearing that need to be oiled or replaced. Because labor is so much to have this done, I figure I may as well swap out the clutch. Does anyone have any suggestions as to a good performance clutch that can still be used as a daily driver? Also, what else should I have done while the tranny is out, IE mods, maintainence? Flywheel?

Does it squeek when you engage, of depress the clutch? If so, probably your throwout bearing going bad.

If it squeeks when your just driving between shifts, something else then.

if your not racing i'd just get an OEM replacement Clutch, Pressure Plate & TO bearing. should be an easy afternoon on a weekend.

if you don't have this kind of experience, get at least a Haynes or Chilton repair manual before strating the job. it worth the 20 bucks.

I would guess it's the clutch pedal linkage inside the cab. The squeak is coming from under the left side of the dash, right? And it's only happening as you push the pedal in and again when you let it out?
Your throw-out bearing is going to *SQUEAL* pretty good if it's going away, and it will sound like it's coming from the tranny hump, and it will be constant as long as you have the pedal pushed down.

Sorry that link won't get you to the video. Maybe this link will work. It should get you to another Dak site post where the guy links to a video of the squeak he had.

That's my video!!

I had a noisy clutch pedal all I did was spray Lithium grease on the clutch piston and the noise went away.
