is it worth it to replace the stock catalytic converter. and would there be any difference in how the exhaust sounded or any change in performance.

Having replaced one.........stick with stock.
You are talking serious money, and exhaust guys have told me the MOPAR breathes as good as anybody's, and better than a lot.

I tend to agree with that. It's usually the stock choker muffler BEHIND the converter that doesn't flow so well.

After 100,000 miles, it's possible the converter may need replacement. Depends on the life it has had. Others run 200,000 miles before clogging up. Excessive running with a bad O2 sensor....running too rich for a long time, will degrade converter life. But as far as what brand, OEM's work well and are made to last.

well the truck is a 1991 with only about 62k miles on it. so i probley shouldnt have any reason to replace it for a while?
