I just purchased a used 2001 Dakota sport, 3.9, auto. I have two problems, one is the airbig… The seatbelt light is flashing at me and the dinger is dinging. The dealer got a clock spring error code so we put that in. GREAT! Now the horn works! But I still have the flashing light and the dinging. Here is what gets me… The fool light flashes all the time, but the dinger is not the same. It will go on dinging for a 40 min trip, and maybe the next time it won’t. Sometimes while the truck is dinging it will stop if the steering wheel is cranked just right, but what the hell, the clock spring was just replaced!-yea it did this before too. Gerrahh

Second problem is the headlamps. They flash real real fast. The speed at witch they flash does not correlate with the engine RPM. They do not flash when the ignition is off, but if you turn the ignition on they start to flicker, and if you start the truck the still flicker. On high beam the flicker is very slight and almost unnoticeable.

Oh yea, and if you unplug one headlamp the flicker stops.

Okay, I ran a ground wire to the searing column and when the truck is not running and the wire is in place there is still flicker, when I start the truck with the wire in place there is no flicker, but then when I shut the truck off there is no flicker until I remove the wire. When I put the wire back with out restarting the truck there is still flicker. This is making me think that I have a bad ground to either the switch (I know where that is at) The steering column ( I know how that comes apart too) but I have no clue where the light control module is. I wanted to run the wire to each one of them until I figure out where the bad ground is. Anyone know where the module is at and what it looks like?

Have you figured this out yet? I had this happen to me when we replaced airbags(as you know passanger dash is entire, unless you skin it) and our B tech did not tighten the main pivoting 15mm dash brackets bolts that are the main ground.
