 Subject: broken check engine light?

My 1998 dakota check engine light wont come on and my truck backfires IS SOUNDS LIKE IT HAS A HUGE CAM AND THERE IS A DELAYED REACTION WHEN GIVING IT THROTTLE .IT STARTS EASILY JUST TURm KEY. THERE IS NO VOLTAGE AT COIL,when IN THE KEY ON POSITION AND LESS THAN THE BATTERY VOLTAGE WHEN CRANKING OR RUNNING.
THE SPARK LOOKS WeaK TO ME. ALL THE PLUGS TURN BLACK IN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES WITH NEW PLUGS.
HERE A LIST OF WHAT IVE TRYED.
CHANGED- PLUGS,WIRES,CAP,ROTOR.ALSO CHANGED T.P.S.
CHECKED ALL SENSORS VOLTS AND RESISTANCE and grounds. (ALL WERE IN SPEC EXCEPT THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSER, CHANGED NO DIFFERENCE(T.P.S. NOW IN SPEC
iVE RESET THE PCM SEVERAL TIMES AND NO CHANGE.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COmES ON BEFORE RUNNING(BUT ITS SUSPOSED TO DO THAT)) BUT WONT TURN ON EVEN IF I UNPLUG ANY SENSERS.
iVE ALSO REMOVED CATAlatic converer and its not pluged. , Ive also spiced in 12volts to coil with no changes. engine and body are grounded
all fuses ar good.
plaese help (I think its the cpu, but would it start and run with a bad pcm?) I cant drive it and Im pissed at my local dodhe dealer so I wont take it there.

Sounds like it's time for a trip to your local Dodge service department so they can see what's wrong with the PCU.

while there, maybe you can have them checkout the Caps Lock sensor on your keyboard. You're obviously having some problems with it.. ;-)

-possible -leaking injector/s
-Unless you have a "scanner " = got to Autozone
they will read codes for free..
98 = need scanner - no other way to read..

Note - sounds as if 'front' O2 sensor is bad..
On the Y crossover pipi in front of cat..
