Message: Hey everyone, I was hoping you guys could give me some of your experiences with these clutches just so i had an idea. I bought this 99 5 sp 4x4 with a suspension lift about a year ago. I knew it was a hydraulic clutch when i bought it, and the salesmen gaurenteed me i could adjust it to be softer. After looking into it i realized that i couldnt. It is really stiff which makes it hard to shift smoothly, and as of late is really hurting my foot at times. Would the clutch be softer if i got it replaced? It doesnt skip at all, could it be because of the 3 inch lift and 2 inches from the torsion bars? Does anyone else have this problem? Thanks a lot guys

Message: The clutch is wore out. You need a new one. The salesman was double talking you so they wouldn't have to fix it.
The deal is the clutch plate is wore so thin it has changed the angle of the pressure plate fingers so far you have lost the normal leverage it normally would have. Change the clutch plate, pressure plate and throw out bearing as a set. What ever you do, do not buy rebuild parts . you will be doing it over in a short time. People normally rev the engine trying to make the car go. The clutch overheats so bad so fast it crystallizes the metal.

Message: Your going to need someone in your area to give you any idea of cost. Even at that, different shops in the same town charge different prices. Just be sure you get all new clutch parts, not rebuilt.
