I removed my auto trans and put in a 5 spd.Tons of performance upgrades and now it hits the revlimiter WAY before I should be shifting. There is alot of tuner chips and handheld programmers that supposedly do this, but when i researched them, they only extend the limit 500rpm. Now it is around 5300 rpm and i need it to be around 6500rpm. SOMEONE HELP!!!

Posting year and motor might help. You might need a PCM for a standard. From the low limit, I'd guess you don't have the 4.7 ?

pcm is out of a 99 ram 2500 4x4 with a 5spd. highly doubt changing to another stock pcm will help. I need rpm to be WAY above any stock "safe" limit. My power band is in between 3500 and 6500 rpm.

What about a custom flash ? The one I have for my 4.7 won't help you; but now that the guys have some idea what you have maybe someone can help. Knowing the motor might help more...

I talk to a few dodge tuner shops such as krc performnce, they are limited to what can be done with a stock pcm or mopar performance pcm.I think I may go with a standalone pcm such as a F.A.S.T. engine controller. The idea of controlling my system is very appealing to me.It will eliminate the need for a reflash every time i decide to change components on my truck. I found a resonable unit hat is only a little more than programmers charge to give me a "custom" flash.

You could either get a mopar PCM, which raises the limiter to 6K, or get a custom flash like from B&G Chrysler to raise it to whatever you want.

6500!!!!! Good lord!!!! I would not trust a 318/360 Magnum at that high or a rev. I get scarred when it reaches 5000 let alone past that. I know that 4.7s will hit 6500.

Magnum small blocks will go past 6000 just as reliably as any other modified small block on the market. Stock is another story as they will lose power at around 5000, but his motor isn't stock.

As for the 4.7 they aren't any good revving that high either stock, been there tried that lost .2 in the 1/4. Better off letting the computer do the shifting at 5500.

The engine is built to go well beyond the 5200 rpm it is regulated for or else I wouldnt be trying to go beyond that. Steel crank, H-beam rods,2.02 heads, dual springs, pushrod guides, forged pistons, supercharged, intercooled, crane cam,4 bolt block(done by our nieghboring machine shop),hardened pushrods, the list goes on. It can and will go way beyond 5200!! Making 473 hp and still climbing when the limiter kicks in. I have decided to go with the phantom ems standalone contoller but it will not be released until next month. I am waiting. Ants in my pants.
