anyone know if 1.7:1 rockers with a .512 lift cam is too much (assuming the correct spring are used)? Enough piston to valve clearance?

NO dont do it. i bought 1.7s from a guy on here and i have a mopar performance cam. its only 455 of lift and they hit. the max you can go is 520. id say stay at the 512. i was going to get a 488 but ive heard with my set up the smaller cam is better. now if you runnin a blower or somthin stick with it.

by the way for somereason when i did the swap i blew out a piston. it looks fine but i had SERIOUS blow by. no im rebuilding my motor. i cant tell if it was cause of the rockers or coincidence.

so just get the 1.6 RR's

They "can" work, but you'll need to upgrade the valve springs. I'm running a .512" lift cam in my V6 with 1.7:1 rockers (.540" lift is what that comes out to). I broke a few valve springs until I swapped out to the stronger MP valve springs.

Stick with the 1.6's unless you plan on swapping out springs. BTW: The difference in between the 1.6 and 1.7:1 rockers with the same cam was only 10RWHP more - at higher RPM. I use the upper RPM band, but for a reliable daily driver...1.6's is the way to go.
