P0132-O2 SENSOR 1/1 CIRCUIT HIGH VOLTAGE
When Monitored: O2 Sensor Heater Temperature is greater than 496°C (925°F) and battery voltage greater than 10.99 volts.
Set Condition: The Oxygen Sensor voltage is above 3.99 volts for 30 seconds. One trip fault.

Sensor 1/1 is "Bank 1/Sensor 1", or driver's side upstream O2 sensor. Sensor 1/2 is driver's side downstream O2 sensor.

Your passenger side is Bank 2, so the upstream would be sensor 2/1 and downstream is sensor 2/2.

There are two O2 sensors for each main catalytic converter on an OBDII emmissions vehicle (1996 and later).
One is upstream of the converter. One is downstream of the converter.
The "stream" is exhaust flow.

The upstream sensor measures oxygen content of the exhaust gases as they leave the engine, and regulate fuel delivery to the cyinders to maintain whatever air/fuel ratio was programmed at the factory.

The downstream sensor measures oxygen content of the exhaust gases as they leave the catalytic converter(s), and when compared to the upstream sensor data, keep the PCM informed of the relative efficiency of the catalytic converter(s).

Circuit High = Short to voltage
Circuit Low = Short to ground

Check the O2 sensor harness as well - make sure that it's not melted on the exhaust or rubbing against any brackets (causing the short). Defintiely replace it though - don't forget to reset the PCM after that's done.

Yup...sure can. Incorrect O2 readings can cause a lot of problems on driveability. Backfires, loss of power, rich mixtures, misfires, even killing a cat in a short period of time.
