Haven't heard of the GM bell housing swap, but you can use the bellhousing from a V10 truck. Have to remember, the 8.0L (and 8.3L) are based from the 5.9L - which uses the same bellhousing at the 3.9/5.2L. Makes for an easy swap out.

As for the PCM...it's the same JTEC PCM as others...only thing different is the programming. And yes, you can actually use the PCM from a 5.9L Ram Manual Trans.

So the backside of the bell housing should fit the T56?

thing about pcms though, i've been told that a '00 and later R/T pcms have a program or codes that tune the timing and some other stuff, cause mine doesnt have the same idle note as ram 5.9s. if i can i'll just try to dyno tune my pcm cause i'd rather keep the thats in since its '03 pcm.

The difference in between the Ram and Dakota PCM is the fuel/timing maps - that's it. And it's only different because of the weight. Trans, Diff, Cam, Heads, Intake, TB...all the same.

Well my dakota idles with a slight lope and changes every 15 to 20 seconds, i've notice a few other R/Ts that do the same. At first i thought something was wrong but i checked everything and got nothing. When my origional pcm had to be replaced which has had 3 malfunctions in its past, daimler sent me an 03 pcm for a r/t that costed alot more than a average 5.9 pcm. Got it in my r/t, idled like a normal 5.9 for a few days continued driving the way i do and then it returns to odd idle. IDK my r/t is wierd anyways; stock it was quick, runs good and hard, but its had brake problems, all sorts of sensor problems and so on.

Before I swapped engines, my v6 (minor mods, manifold, chip, exhaust, etc) topped ~130 on a downslope clocked with a buddies mustang and a vw golf. On straight aways it was ~115-120. ABS sensor was pulled to bypass the governor.

New 402 vortech s/c, suspension/engine mods are too many to list = ~165 (I let off because of a turn) top speed downhill, ~155 straight away clocked with the same mustang. These were run in the appalachian mountains of Maryland.

Fasstdak, or B....,

When, and WHY, did you get rid of your Supercharger?
