i just drove home my new dak home from austin TX, the other night, its a red 00' EC 4x4 4.7L auto. boyyy i coulnt be happier with the performance for stock, its great, definatley would of rather had a stick tho. already raced it twice! messed around with a F-250 diesel on a downhill slope and still beat em. and massacred my buddies late model accord prolly by 3 car lengths.

anyways im already ready to start fixin her up :D. been readin up on the best performance parts to get for the 4.7, heard headers, intake, anything to let it breathe is much more productive then chips, TB, ect.

whats the best brand of headers i can get for it, and what kind of cam? im throwin a glasspack muffler and guttin it next weekend, gotta have that sound!

I hope when you say headers and and intake would be more productive than a TB Spacer and not just the TB. The TB would help let it breath better so I'm a little confused as to what you mean. The HO cams and intake are a pretty popular mod and I dont think they're too expensive either.

Wish I could tell you the gain .I put most of it all on at once without dynoing it before i did.I can say after I had the ehaust superchip and headers put on there was a big improvement in powere all across the rpm gage.Just seat of your pants thoe no dyno. Then the high flow cat and the y even improved it more I put them on 2 months later so I know it was the y and cat for that gain.I will say some fellas on here go to there grave with the fact shortys are little or no gain. I have only come across one web site that says this but they were trying to sell some kit so of course they would say this .I can waste A good set of goodyears no problem now. Would spin them but grab when I just had the cold air intake on them after the headers tuner and exhaust I have to let up on it.

Borla cat back sounds good and I noticed a bit of an add on my '01. A bit pricey, but you're getting SS and it will last.
I went with MagnaFlow on my '05, I am much happier with the sound and performance.
Just my .02

A good chip or custom flash could be at least as productive as some of what you're thinking of doing - the 4.7 loves more ignition advance. Where is it you've been doing this reading ? Responds well to cam change too. I've never heard of anyone dynoing a decent gain with exhaust changes unles they also swapped out the restictive y-pipe; even more restrictive in later years.
