Good enough for what??? Are you pulling a fifth-wheel with over 10K lbs to and from construction sites or are you delivering flowers from a nursery to a florist? If your answer is somewhere dead in the middle then get a Dakota/Raider. Most people don't need the 1ton diesel or the extra cost assoiciated with owning one.

how did you put $1000 in and get 600 hp?
even 2 chips stacked wont get you that, and chips usualy run $500+ each

most people running 600 hp are also running twins or one very large turbo, again, that will cost more than 1k

and then you run into the tranny issue, a stock 48RE or even allison 1000 cant handle 600 hp without blowing up unless you get a different TC, valve bosy, and billit shafts
again, over 1k
throw in a lift pump to supply more fuel or a built up cp3 or vp or whatever your truck runs and you are again over 1k jsut for that with the injectors

intake and a 5" exhaust will run you over 1k for a good setup with an AFE stage 2 and a 5" stainless exhaust, well no, that might be slightly under 1k

now, had you siad dump $10,000 into it and said running 12s or 11s its beleiveable

oh yeah, and there isnt that much extra cost of owning the diesel but its there

fuel filter every 15k
oil changes get spendy with 3 gallons of oil every 7500
ummm, other than that i have to get a more expensive license tab for mine

and if you are getting 18 mpg with a dakota 18 mpg with more expensive diesel does suck sometimes
i once spent $100 to fill the truck up when it was like $3.40/gallon

SuperBee,
There's not much extra cost to owning a Cummins Diesel Ram? How about the initial price?
V8 CCab Dak with options....$22K
Cummins Diesel Ram 2dr 2wd...$33K

Then the tires are $60.00 a piece cheaper for the Dakota. I can go on all day if you would like to continue this argument. Like I told the lady earlier. Unless she is hauling heavy equipment/supplies/trailers she doesn't need the BIG truck.

cost factor

when you turn around to sell the diesel you will get like 5k more for a cummins 2500 than a hemi 250o

wait, we should be comparing apples to apples, not full size to dakota

so your dakota tires are $90 per tire? if you run 15" rims and 28" tire ill bite that. seems kinda low to me though for a 30" or whatever the newer dakotas run, new load range E BF goodrich tires for the HD are $150

the deisel will hold its value also, the diesel will run pretty much forever as long as you dont bomb it

and edge programer, which one did you get?
i have the Edge juice, w/ att and even with the Hot juice flash it will give 120 hp tops i think
standard juice gives 100 hp, so do you have an older truck with the drag comp? or is there one im forgetting?

and the 5" exhaust is pointless unless you are in fact over 500 hp
and i did forget about other injection, like Propane and NO2
i was thinking straight #2
and besides not everyone can get a 5" exhaust for $150, you need to think the average person, and the average person is also not going to install thier own propane system either, everage, granted there is a percentage of people that will, but i bet its less than 10%

but i said the extra cost is there, so i admitted that, i just said its not that much more
